Celebrating Motorsport in Goiás
This year, the celebrations were special, as the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna de Goiânia celebrates its 50 years of existence, and the Goiana Automobile Federation (Faugo) celebrates 55 years of dedication to the sport. With all the festivities taking place in July, the month is full of speed, excitement and historical recognition and tributes to the great names in motorsport in Goiás.

The Beginning of the Festivities
On the 6th and 7th of July, the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna was the epicenter of the celebrations. The races of the third stage of the Goiano Motorsport Championship – Tourism Category 1.4 – Brands & Pilots, together with the debut of the Formula Millenium, shook the racetrack.
Tribute to the Great Names of Motorsport in Goiás
On Sunday, July 7th, parallel to the races, Faugo – Goiana Motorsport Federation paid a special tribute to the personalities who marked the history of motorsport in the State.
The importance of the presence of the Automóvel Clube Brasileiro
The presence of the Automóvel Clube Brasileiro (ACBr) in motorsport, despite the Club’s focus being on mobility and safety, is fundamental to the international reach of the sport in Goiás. The ACBr, which plays a crucial role in promoting the safety of competitions, in addition to strengthen integration between the various clubs and federations in both areas of activity. A real integration between sport and mobility.
Competition
The Goiano Motorsport Championship – Brands & Pilots – Tourism 1.4 has been winning over fans for over 50 years. The competitions, which began in the 1970s, bring together passenger cars of different makes and models in a competition for performance and speed on the tracks. In Goiás, these competitions boosted the construction of new tracks and race tracks, combining the culture of car racing with the passion for motorsport and leisure.
Highlights of the Tourism 1.4 competitions
- Category A: : Vitor Perillo leads with 139 points, followed by the duo Fernando Dalabona and Alessandro Lopes (Saninho) with 80.
- Category B: Loran Lima is ahead with 101 points, with Antônio (Tony) Mariano adding 77.
- Novice Category: Thiago Costa and João Ricardo, with 146 and 86 points respectively.
- Senior Category: Aloísio Neto leads with 80 points, followed by José de Barros Neto with 62.
Formula Millenium debut
The weekend also marked the official debut of Formula Millenium, with teams and drivers competing with 1.8 engines. This motorsport category stands out for its high performance, with cars designed for maximum speed and excitement on the tracks. Recognized for its high-level competitions, Formula Millenium highlights the exceptional skill of the drivers and the technical excellence of the teams, providing an electrifying experience for both competitors and spectators.
About the Ayrton Senna International Circuit
Opened in 1974, the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna de Goiânia is one of the city’s main leisure spots. With a modern circuit and a safety route measuring more than three kilometers in length, the race track can accommodate up to 100,000 people in motorsport and motorcycling events. In 2024, it will celebrate its 50 years of existence, continuing to be an important milestone for motorsport in Goiás.
