A point from influencers
Nicolas Sarubbi, a digital influencer who makes videos about the São Paulo Metro and already has more than 100 thousand followers on TikTok, was one of the people who visited the place.
Giving a tip about the location, he says that the stains “are on the ceiling of the boarding area of Line 3-Red, on the platform towards Palmeiras-Barra Funda. All I had to do was get to this platform and look at the ceiling and I found the red spots, as there were several, it was easy to find.”

The young man says he discovered this urban legend when his followers started tagging him in a video on the subject and asking him to check if the tags really existed. After he made a video on the topic, he says that more people started visiting the place.
The origin of the blood marks on the subway
“I don’t doubt at all that it’s something bizarre, since this takes place in the Republic, right?”, jokes the influencer about the handprints. Photo: Disclosure/Nicolas Sarubbi
Sarubbi says he tried to investigate what caused these marks, however, he had no answers. “I spoke to some employees, but even they couldn’t really explain why these stains were there. They said it could be a joke made by a subway passenger”, says the digital influencer.
Far from fantasizing a macabre story, the young man actually has a simpler theory. Red handprints are always close to pipes painted the same color. Therefore, they may have been made by an employee who handled the paint. “I thought: ‘If it were me painting the pipes, I would also love to leave my mark on the station’”, he jokes.
