3 min readNational Traffic Week begins this Wednesday, 18th, with activities and events on road safety until September 25th. The theme of this year’s edition is “Peace in traffic begins with you” and was, for the first time, chosen by popular vote. The official opening takes place this Monday, 16th, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport, in Brasília.

According to the ministry, more than 150 activities have been confirmed in all regions of Brazil, involving transit agencies and partner entities. During the opening event, the message chosen by citizens to be used in all educational campaigns of the country’s transit agencies in 2025 will also be announced.
The Week takes place during the month of September also due to the creation of the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), which came into force on September 23, 1997. Furthermore, throughout National Traffic Week, World Car Free Day is also celebrated on September 22.

International Traffic Congress, Rio Grande do Sul
The Detran of Rio Grande do Sul (DetranRS) participates in the International Traffic Congress promoted by the State Military Brigade. According to the organization, the event will discuss fleet electrification, traffic education and blood alcohol legislation. The Congress should bring together traffic experts and scholars in Gramado and will have live broadcasts. Registration is free and can be done at event website.

Interactive exhibition, São Paulo
THE MAPFRE Foundation opens the free, interactive exhibition “No Caminho Consciente”, at 11am, at Shopping Aricanduva, in the Boulevard Tatuapé space, in São Paulo/SP. The exhibition presents a reflection on the main risks faced by motorcyclists in traffic.

Learning space, Rio Grande do Sul
On the 18th, the DetranRS Public Traffic School promotes an activity in the learning spaces at its headquarters. The event aimed at students and teachers at Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental Professor Olintho de Oliveira will also feature a Virtual Mural. Displayed in the School’s library, the mural will focus on the mobility of cities using excerpts from books.
Friends of Detran, Bahia
“Amigos do Detran”, held on September 18th at the Court of Justice of Bahia, is part of the official programming of the State Department of Traffic (Detran-BA). The occasion will honor 40 Bahian personalities who have contributed to promoting safer traffic in the State. During the event, the honored personalities will receive medals in recognition of the work carried out in the region.
Roundtable on Traffic Law, Santa Catarina
Hosted at different universities in Santa Catarina free of charge, the Conversation Circle on Traffic Law will be aimed at Law students, teachers and professionals who work in traffic. The event also aims to promote specialized knowledge, with educational content and interaction throughout National Traffic Week. Registration is available at event website.
