2 min readInterstate travel services from the bus station in Porto Alegre they reopened on Thursday, 13th. Bus routes to and from the station had been suspended since May 4th, due to the floods that hit several parts of Rio Grande do Sul. Operations are gradually returning.

After 41 days without operation, the Porto Alegre Bus Station resumes traditional opening hours, with services between 6am and 9pm. For now, the trips offered include destinations in just seven states: Pará, Distrito Federal, Goiás, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina and Paraná. In total, there will be 30 boarding and disembarking times.
To access tickets and find out about travel availability, passengers must access the website of the bus company responsible for the route. The bus station portal brings together all company access links who provide service at the terminal. According to the bus station management, the stores in the space will remain closed because the electricity supply has not yet been completely restored.
During the interruption period, trips were leaving from the bus terminal in the municipality of Osório, on the north coast of the state. The city is 100 kilometers from the capital. As determined by Agência Brasil and with information from the Autonomous Highway Department of Rio Grande do Sul (Daer-RS), trips departing from São Leopoldo will not be changed, and the definition of this route must occur at another time. .
Porto Alegre Bus Station and intercity travel
The Porto Alegre Bus Station resumed intercity travel more or less a week earlier, on the 7th. The operation serves 116 municipalities in the State, with around 90 daily schedules. To access travel information and cities with available routes, users can check directly on the bus station’s digital portal.
