Strategic Alliance for Mobility and Road Safety: The Future We Desire

In today’s globalized scenario, strategic partnerships between national and international organizations are crucial for the sustainable development of mobility and road safety policies. This is exemplified by the collaboration between the Brazilian Automobile Club (ACBr), a member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the National Institute of Traffic and Safety Projects (INPROTRAN), YellotMob Electric Mobility and Sustainable Energy, SPS Enterprises and Participations, and other entities. Together, they have introduced a global plan aimed at developing countries in the areas of mobility, road safety, and education.

This innovative plan, pending approval by a special UN commission by the end of November, promises to transform the Brazilian landscape over up to five years, should the request be accepted. The initiative aims to implement various educational programs to raise awareness about traffic, as well as to train authorities and community leaders, develop smart cities, and promote accident prevention campaigns.

According to Humberto Kennedy, vice-president of ACBr, Brazil has a favorable environment to receive and support the actions of the strategic plan, as it already has a positive history in the execution of FIA and UN projects. The country is capable of absorbing the projects on the agenda and reflecting lasting social dimensions and results across different segments. “From the actions developed, Brazil can build a legacy in urban mobility and improved accessibility,” explained Humberto.

Stenio Pereira, SPS executive responsible for fundraising and project management at ACBr, highlighted that the alliance seeks maximum political support. The group has already presented the plan to the authorities of the State of Goiás, in a workshop in Aparecida de Goiânia. “The project will provide support to national, state, and municipal governments for the country we want: more conscious, with more road safety and, consequently, with lower indicators of deaths and traffic accidents,” he stated.

Throughout its history, the Brazilian Automobile Club has established itself as a benchmark entity in mobility and road safety in Brazil. Its operations, guided by transparent, ethical, and responsible practices, demonstrate the solidity and integrity necessary for any organization that intends to represent the International Automobile Federation – FIA, in projects supported by the UN/UNITAR.

Furthermore, by establishing alliances with public and private entities, both non-governmental and governmental, ACBr maintains ongoing dialogue and alliances with representatives of Brazilian governments, aiming to advise on the implementation of various mobility issues and the reduction of deaths and injuries in traffic. The club’s goal is to ensure that the actions and projects carried out in the country are aligned with the real needs of Brazilian traffic and with current public policies in defense of life, through safer traffic.
