In the current landscape of discussions on road safety and sustainable traffic, the role of associations is crucial for promoting significant changes. On the last December 14,a remarkable event took place:Secretary Adrualdo Catão from the National Secretariat of Transit(SENATRAN),linked to the Ministry of Transportation of Brazil, welcomed representatives from the Automobile Club of Brazil(ACBr),an important member of the International Automobile Federation(FIA).Present were Humberto Kennedy,Vice President, and Kleber Deniz Pinto,Director of Technology and Education.
The meeting stood out not only for the presence of notable figures but primarily for the depth of the debates centered on improving traffic conditions and reducing accidents in Brazilian territory. Therefore,it was a dialogue where the parties extensively discussed national road safety programs, especially the National Plan for the Reduction of Deaths and Injuries in Traffic(PNATRANS)and the Good Driver Partners.
Through these discussions, the importance of ongoing support from the FIA to national efforts became evident.Additionally,FIA Region IV sent a letter to SENATRAN,expressing gratitude for the diligence and commitment to vital issues related to road safety and mobility. This acknowledgment reflects not only the joint effort but also the seriousness with which these issues are addressed.
Furthermore,ACBr reinforced its association with the National Institute of Traffic and Safety Projects(INPROTRAN).Together, they are committed to supporting the actions planned for 2024,which include not only strengthening road safety but also promoting the training of professionals in the field. This joint effort is crucial for building safer and more efficient traffic in Brazil.
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations,ACBr,through its collaboration with FIA,strictly aligns with the goals of the United Nations’Second Decade of Action for Road Safety and the guidelines of the Brazilian PNATRANS.This strategic alliance is seen as an uplifting example for other member countries of the international organization.
The collaboration between FIA,ACBr,and Brazilian institutions exemplifies how coordinated efforts can reflect a genuine commitment to road safety and building a safer future on the roads.By celebrating this union,a future is envisioned where Brazilian roads are recognized not only for their length but also for the safety and efficiency they offer to all users.
Therefore, the meeting between ACBr and SENATRAN demonstrates a significant advance in the fight for safer and more effective traffic. This example of collaboration is a strong indication that, when entities work together, the results can be not only promising but transformative. The conversations marked an important step in the right direction, placing Brazil at a prominent level in the international road safety scene.
