The Automóvel Clube Brasileiro is a civil, social, and sporting nonprofit organization.
our history
Founded in September 1995, the Automóvel Clube Brasileiro (ACBr) offers a wide range of services. Among its activities is the promotion of tourism on wheels, traffic safety, proposing road safety educational campaigns, and the issuance of the International Driving Permit (IDP). Moreover, ACBr provides its members and their vehicles with mechanical assistance on streets and roads throughout Brazil.
Members of the Automóvel Clube Brasileiro (ACBr) and users of international documents issued by the club are guaranteed assistance in more than 140 countries, through the reciprocity system established by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the International Tourism Alliance (A.I.T.), and the International Federation of Touring and Automobile Clubs (FITAC), global organizations to which ACBr is affiliated. These organizations bring together more than 140 Automobile Clubs worldwide and have over 80,000,000 members.
ACBr is a member club of the FIA, committed to mobility and road safety, aligned with international programs created by the United Nations (UN), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). In other words, as a new business partner, ACBr will add international value to your brand and story.
The brokerage’s clients also have reasons to celebrate. ACBr members receive 24-hour service, with special attention to quality, tradition, and competence, ensuring peace of mind not only for the member but for the entire family. Besides the excellent cost/benefit ratio compared to competitors’ alternatives, your client can enjoy an exclusive benefit. ACBr Full Members and Drivers, on international trips, have access to various services in 148 FIA member clubs around the world. Thanks to the principles of reciprocity established by the FIA, an ACBr member can count on the effective support of the local club, a member of the FIA, in case of any need in foreign territory. Thus, if there is a need for automotive assistance, legal or tourist guidance, and no language barriers, just call the Automobile Club of the country you will visit. traffic education
Over the years, ACBr has developed the social project #TrafficAndLives, a pioneering social responsibility initiative aligned with the FIA protocols for the creation, development, and promotion of partnerships that enable the implementation of actions aimed at reducing the number of traffic accidents through education and road prudence.
The program is in accordance with the Decade of Action for Road Safety, a United Nations treaty with governments around the world that have committed to taking new measures to prevent traffic accidents between 2011 and 2020. Two of the goals of this treaty are to halve the global number of deaths and injuries related to traffic and to encourage countries to implement best practices to make their roads safer.
Among the actions carried out by the project, the #CurtacomVida festival, supported by Bosch, was highlighted in the press for encouraging the creation of short videos (up to two minutes) with a critical and constructive perspective on mobility and road safety in the streets and roads of Brazil. The audience chose the two winning videos, which won a pair of tickets to watch the Brazilian Grand Prix of Formula 1 in 2016, a vehicle inspection voucher at the Bosch Service network, and a year of 24-hour automotive assistance from ACBr.
